Structural Collapse Rescue – Operations

This 40-hour course is designed to train the student in the skills required for response to structural collapse incidents involving light frame construction. Skills for this program of instruction are drawn out of the requirements found in in the most current editions of NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670. FEMA structural collapse curriculum is used to ensure students can communicate and operate with similarly trained peers from across the nation. Students will receive instruction on the fundamentals of structural collapse rescue in both classroom and practical settings, including scenario-based instruction.

• Emergency Shoring Theory & Construction
• Lifting, Moving & Cribbing
• Victim Search & Extrication
• Tool & Equipment Familiarization

Prerequisite Requirements:
All students must meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 rope rescue operations for registration in this program of instruction.
